About the practice
A West Palm Beach medical practice built on time, expertise and trust.
Carden Dodson Medical Associates has cared for adults in West Palm Beach since 1985, when Dr. David Dodson began practicing internal medicine and infectious disease here and founded the Travelers Medical Service. Today our three physicians, Dr. Dodson, Dr. Alexander G. Carden and Dr. Kleper de Almeida, are each board-certified in both internal medicine and infectious disease, so your primary care physician is also an infectious disease specialist.
That training shapes how we practice. Your physician can manage your everyday health (checkups, blood pressure, cholesterol and chronic conditions) and also recognize and treat complicated infections, plan vaccines for international travel and interpret imaging from our on-site digital X-ray. Fewer handoffs mean fewer gaps in your care.
Our office is on North Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach, overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and a short drive from Palm Beach Island. Our physicians have served as chiefs of staff and department leaders at Good Samaritan Medical Center and St. Mary’s Medical Center, and Dr. de Almeida teaches physicians in training. That experience helps when your care involves a hospital stay or a specialist.

Dr. Dodson founded the Travelers Medical Service in West Palm Beach in 1985, and our physicians have counseled thousands of travelers since.
